Panama City,FL : PC man seriously injured after wreck with police officer on March, Saturday 17th 2018

A Panama City man was seriously injured after he reportedly ran a stop sign early Saturday morning and collided with a Panama City Police Officer.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, George Holleran, 61, was driving his Chevy Malibu westbound on Game Farm Road around 12:14 a.m. Saturday morning when he allegedly ran the stop sign at the intersection with N. East Avenue. At the same time, a Panama City Police officer was traveling northbound on N. East Avenue in a department-owned Ford F-150, and the two collided.

After the impact, the Malibu also struck a concession trailer and a picnic table. Holleran sustained serious injuries in the wreck, while the officer, who will not be named, was treated for minor injures. Both were transported to Bay Medical Sacred Heart.

According to FHP, alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Holleran will be cited for running a stop sign and failure to wear a seatbelt.
