Fort Myers, FL : Estero man dies in motorcycle crash in south Lee County on Saturday night, August 13, 2016

An Estero man was killed Saturday night after his off-road motorcycle collided with a homemade swamp buggy on a dirt road in south Lee County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Dylan Mosley, 23, was riding a RM250 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on the southbound side of Carter Road, a narrow unpaved roadway, just south of Estero Pine Road.

A homemade swamp buggy driven by Colton Sheffield, 20, of Bonita Springs, was southbound on the south side of Carter.

The FHP said Sheffield took evasive action toward the left to avoid Mosley as the motorcyclist took evasive action toward the right to return to the northbound side of the roadway.

Mosley struck the front left portion of Sheffield's swamp buggy and plunged into a water-filled canal on the east side of the roadway.

He was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

Neither Sheffield nor four passengers in the swamp buggy were injured.

The crash is under investigation.
