Motorcyclist dies in accident in Maryland

The operator of a motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Saturday early morning, police said.David Roy Spriggs, 42, of Owings, Md., Calvert County was traveling south on Rt. 1 and attempted to take the exit for Rt. 100 eastbound when he lost control of his 2005 Suzuki motorcycle and was thrown off of it, police said.
Spriggs was taken to St. Agnes hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The cause of the crash is not known at this point, officials said.
