A Leitchfield man was injured in a crash on Highway 1214 on Thursday afternoon, April 21.

At approximately 2:37 p.m. on Thursday, the Leitchfield Police Department (LPD) responded to a single-vehicle collision on Hwy 1214 within the city limits.

According to investigating LPD Detective Kevin Smith, a 2002 Chevrolet Impala, operated by Christopher Farmer, 22, of Leitchfield, was travelling on Hwy 1214 when Farmer lost control of the vehicle on the wet roadway.

The Chevrolet then struck a guard rail, left the road, and crashed into a tree, Smith said.

Farmer was treated at the scene by Grayson County Emergency Medical Services (GCEMS) and the Leitchfield Fire Department and was transported from the scene by GCEMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center to receive treatment for

non-life-threatening accident-related injuries.

The Chevrolet was disabled as a result of the crash and removed from the scene by a towing service.

With the recent change in weather, more and more individuals are venturing out onto Grayson County’s roadways, and, subsequently, the Leitchfield Police Department has begun receiving an increased number of traffic-related complaints.

The LPD is advising motorists to please drive with caution, wear their seatbelts, and abide by all traffic signs, especially in school and residential areas.
