Naples, FL : Bonita Springs man dies following crash into canal on Monday, March 21, 2016

A Bonita Springs man died Thursday from injuries sustained after his car crashed into a canal on Monday.

According to a press release fromt he Lee County Sheriff's Office, Duane L. Williams, 64, was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound on Pennsylvania Street toward Tennessee Street at about 9:43 a.m. on Monday when approaching a curve to the left. The car continued straight, knocking over several trees and landing upside down in a canal.

Deputies and EMS removed him from the vehicle and he was transported North Naples Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
