Marietta ,GA :Motorcycle driver killed and her daughter injured after crashing into the side of a car in metro Atlanta on Thursday night ,April 23 2015

A motorcycle driver is dead after crashing into the side of a car in metro Atlanta.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://on-ajc.com/1IPLShC ) the collision happened Thursday night on Windy Hill Road in Cobb County. Cobb County police say a Kia Optima was making a left-hand turn when a motorcycle traveling the opposite direction crashed into the car's passenger side door.

Police say the motorcycle driver died at the scene. Authorities have not released his name pending notification of his family.

The driver of the Kia and her 15-year-old daughter, who was a passenger, were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Police say they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
