On Sunday, at approximately 1 a.m., a Calaveras County deputy patrolling the Wallace area noticed a Ford Mustang swerving on the roadway as it traveled eastbound on Highway 12.
As the vehicle rolled to a stop, the deputy attempted a traffic stop, at which time; the suspect accelerated the vehicle and fled toward the Valley Springs area before circling back toward San Joaquin County via Highway 26.
A California Highway Patrol officer took over the pursuit, which ended in the Farmington area, after the vehicle crashed.
