NICEVILLE, FL : Niceville teen in critical condition after skateboard accident on Thursday, 24th May 2018

A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition after falling from a skateboard and hitting the pavement when he pushed himself off a moving vehicle to go down a hill, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Seth Tyson Farrer, 19, was driving his Ford Edge at the top of a hill on 20th Street near Pine Avenue in Niceville at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, an FHP news release said. Kenneth Alan Moss Jr., 17, was skateboarding west on 20th Street when he grabbed the back of Farrer’s vehicle to gain speed to push himself down the hill.

Moss, who was not wearing a helmet, lost his balance, fell off the skateboard and hit the pavement. He was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, the FHP said.
