Canon, CO : Man dies in vehicle accident at Red Canyon Park on Thursday, July 21, 2016

A man died in a single vehicle rollover accident Thursday at Red Canyon Park.

According to a press release, two males, both in their mid-40s, were traveling eastbound in Red Canyon Park, about one half mile from Red Canyon Road, when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and rolled down the north side of an embankment, ejecting both men

At 1:41 p.m., Cañon City Police Officers were dispatched to Red Canyon Park after the passenger flagged down City Employees in a Cañon City Parks truck.

According to the release, lifesaving efforts were attempted on the driver while Flight for Life was requested.

Flight was cancelled when the efforts were unsuccessful.

The passenger was transported to St. Thomas More Hospital with unknown injuries.

Fremont County Coroner Randy Keller has not released the name of the driver of the vehicle pending notification of family members.

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in this fatality.
