Phoenix, AZ : Driver killed, three injured in overnight crash on Elliot Road on Sunday morning, January 11, 2015

A driver was killed and three others injured in a deadly car crash early Sunday morning. At least one of the victims is listed in extremely critical condition.

Phoenix Fire crews say they responded to a crash near South 51st Ave. and Elliot Road at about 12:15am. They say four victims were on the scene in need of medical help, and two of the victims had to be freed from the wreckage by firefighters. One of them remains in extremely critical condition. The two other crash victims were also seriously injured.

Police say the driver of one of the cars was speeding, hit the back of another vehicle, and lost control and struck a second vehicle. The driver of that speeding vehicle was rushed to the hospital, but later died as a result of his injuries.
