Marysville, WA : Four people transported to the hospital after an Saturday morning crash on I-5 in Marysville on October 4, 2014
A driver may face vehicular assault charges after crashing into the Jersey barrier on southbound Interstate 5 in Marysville.
The driver hit the barrier so hard that it slid into the northbound lanes, a spokesperson with Washington State Patrol said. While all four people in the car were transported to the hospital, only one had serious injuries with broken bones.
Some of the passengers were not wearing their seat belts in the crash, troopers said. The crash happened around 1:00 a.m. Saturday.
Troopers said the driver was travelling at a high rate of speed, which could lead to charges because of the serious injuries. The driver was not impaired, troopers said.
The accident closed the left two lanes of Interstate 5 at Highway 529 for several hours as troopers investigated.
