Salem, OR : Man killed in a crash on Interstate 5 south of the French Prairie Rest Area Monday, September 26, 2016

A Salem man was killed in a crash on Interstate 5 at about 6:30 a.m. Monday, according to Oregon State Police.

Timothy Bagley, 50, was northbound on I-5 on his 1990 Honda motorcycle when he encountered slow traffic just south of the French Prairie Rest Area.

Bagley changed lanes, lost control and was thrown from his motorcycle.

He was struck by a 2016 Mack truck tractor towing double trailers.

The driver of the truck, Lowell Troyer, 43, of Halsey, was not injured.

The slow lane of I-5 was closed for several hours while Oregon State Police conducted an investigation.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Aurora Fire and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted with the scene.
