Ottawa County, OH : Man died after a one-vehicle motorcycle crash in Danbury Twp on Monday evening, August 1, 2016

A local man died after a one-vehicle motorcycle crash Monday evening.

Marcus L. Zimmerman, 33, of Fremont, sustained incapacitating injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Zimmerman was merging westbound onto Ohio 2 from Ohio 269 in Danbury Township when he reportedly veered off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail. The crash caused his motorcycle to overturn.

It’s not clear if drugs or alcohol were involved as the case remains under investigation, according to the release.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by Danbury Township police and fire departments, North Central EMS, Life Flight, the Ottawa County Coroner’s Office, Don’s Towing and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
