Bardstown, KY : A young woman died in a car crash on Thursday, 5th April 2018
A young woman died in a car crash that happened near 4075 Springfield Road about 1 a.m. Thursday but wasn’t reported until 17 hours later.Coroner Field Houghlin identified the victim as 22-year-old Destiny Cheyenne Danner of Bardstown.
Her parents were notified.
Houghlin said her body was sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for a pathology study to determine the cause of death.
Sgt. Ramon Pineiroa of the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office said the time of the crash was known because someone in the house near the crash site heard it but didn’t reported it then.
Dispatchers got the call about 6:30 p.m.
There was a bumper lying in the front yard of the residence, and it appeared the car hit a small tree beside it before going into some woods and over a steep embankment before coming to rest in a creek.
There were no passengers, Pineiroa said.
Nelson County Fire and Rescue, EMS and sheriff’s deputies were on the scene moments after the call, and an accident reconstructionist the coroner were called. Officers were letting traffic through on U.S. 150 within a half hour after emergency service personnel arrived.
Pineiroa said the Sheriff’s Office would later issue a press release on the accident.
