Minneapolis,MN : St. Ansgar man killed in Minnesota crash on August, Friday 11th 2017

A St. Ansgar man was killed Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash in southeastern Minnesota.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2005 Chevrolet Impala driven by Jacob Paul Nelson, 22, of St. Ansgar failed to yield at a median stop sign while crossing Highway 52 at Highway 57 just before 7 p.m. northeast of Zumbrota. The car pulled out in front of a semi traveling northbound on Highway 52.

The passenger in the car, Cody William Lloyd Squier, 22, of St. Ansgar, was killed.


Nelson sustained not life threatening injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, according to the report.

The driver of the semi, 54-year-old Christopher John Small, was not injured.

The State Patrol said the roadway was dry when the fatal crash occurred. The three men were wearing their seat belts.
