Detroit, MI : Motorcyclist dies in crash on Southfield Freeway on Friday’s morning, August 28 2015

An early morning fatal crash between a car a motorcycle backed up traffic on the southbound Southfield Freeway (M-39) during Friday’s morning rush hour.
According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the crash occurred about 3:15 a.m near Grand River Avenue. As of 6:30 a.m., southbound traffic was backed up past McNichols due to the closure of the left and center lanes.
WWJ 950 AM is reporting that the car was traveling southbound on the freeway when it struck a motorcycle. The car veered up the embankment and onto the service drive.It careened into a residential neighborhood where it rolled and ended upside down.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. The female driver of the car was injured and was taken to a local hospital
