Fort Myers, FL : Seven people injured in U.S. 41 crash on Friday night, April 8, 2016

Troopers say a two-car crash on Friday night left one of the drivers in serious condition and injured six others.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Karen A. Vecchio, 46, of Naples was driving a GMC Yukon with five passengers south on U.S. 41. She failed to yield, turning into the drivers side of a Chevy S-10 driven by Oscar R. Gamboa, 18, of Naples, as they approached Whistler's Cove Boulevard about 10:30 p.m..

Gamboa was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

His passenger, Patricia N. Sebastian, 17, of Naples was taken to North Collier Hospital with minor injuries, troopers said.

Five children in Vecchio's truck also were taken to North Collier Hospital. They are: Donte Vecchio, 13; Guliani Ramos, 13; Hanoy Mijares, 13; Raven Castro, 13 and Jakenson Josapha, 14, all of Naples.
