Perley, MN : One person injured after a crash on U.S. Highway 75 in Norman County on Sunday night, May 22, 2016

One person was injured after a crash Sunday night south of Perley.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 31-year-old Mingzhu Liu of Crookston was driving a Volkswagen Passat northbound on U.S. Highway 75 south about 10 p.m. in Norman County.

Liu reached down while driving and lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the southbound lane of traffic and went into the west ditch, according to a report from the State Patrol

The vehicle continued for about 100 yards in an open field, came back across the roadway and into the east ditch, where it continued for another 50 yards before stopping, the report states.

Liu was transported to a hospital for injuries.
