Tampa, FL : Woman killed in head-on collision east of Tampa early Sunday morning, July 17, 2016

A Tampa woman was killed in a head-on collision early Sunday morning, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Esther Jean, 31, was driving a Toyota Camry west on Broadway Avenue approaching Falkenburg Road east of Tampa about 5:40 a.m.

Jacob Robin Albaraccin, 21, of Brandon was driving a Toyota Camry east on Broadway about 70 mph.

Albaraccin then crossed the double yellow line, hitting Jean’s car head-on, killing her instantly, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities had to extract Albaraccin from his car. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital. His condition was unknown Sunday afternoon.
