Tallahassee, FL : Brandon woman killed in Hernando car crash on Sunday, July 2, 2017

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 3:29 p.m., a 1999 Toyota 4Runner was traveling northbound in the outside lane of Interstate 75 north of State Road 50 when it left the roadway and entered the east shoulder.

The 4Runner then traveled back across the roadway, collided with the median concrete barrier wall, drove back into the roadway, overturned and finally came to rest upright on the shoulder.

The passenger, Linda J. Lockamy, 60 and of Brandon, died at the scene of the crash.

The driver Francis K. Lockamy, 69 and also of Brandon, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Authorities said the crash was not due to alcohol and that both the driver and passenger were wearing seatbelts.
