A Berry Creek man died in a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon on Oro-Quincy Highway, officers said.
The Butte County Coroner’s Office on Friday identified the man as 40-year-old Brandon Robuck.
The crash occurred about 1:55 p.m. Thursday, when Robuck was westbound on Oro-Quincy Highway approaching Foreman Creek Road in the Berry Creek area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At the same time the driver of an eastbound GMC Yukon failed to notice the approaching motorcycle and turned left toward Foreman Creek Road, traveling directly into Robuck’s path.
Robuck tried but failed to stop his motorcycle and crashed into the right side of the SUV, officers said. He suffered major trauma and died at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, identified as Rebecca Dobson, 31, of Bellbrook, Ohio, was unhurt.
Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash, officers said. The incident remained under investigation.
No arrests were made.
