Seattle, WA : Cyclist seriously hurt in Seattle crash on Monday, 17th October 2016
A bicyclist was seriously injured in Seattle after a collision with a car Monday night.
The man, thought to be in his mid-50s, suffered life-threatening injuries in what Seattle Fire Department personnel described as a “bike/car incident.” Details of the Interbay neighborhood crash we’re immediately available.
The bicyclist appears to have collided with a car on Elliott Avenue West just south of the Magnolia Bridge.
Police and firefighters responded to the crash, which occurred at 5:30 p.m. near the Galer Street flyover. The injured man was rushed to Haborview Medical Center for treatment.
A fire department spokesperson described the incident on Twitter:
“Seattle Medics treated/transported a male mid-50's to HMC with life threatening injuries. Bike/Car incident at w Galer Flyover/Elliott AV W.”
The crash blocked traffic in both directions, complicating the evening commute.
