NEW KENT, VA : Driver dies after head-on collision on Interstate 64 on Monday, 31st October 2016

A man has died and another person has been injured following a head-on collision on Interstate 64 in New Kent County.

Local news organizations report that the incident occurred Monday night after 25-year-old James C. Pavlikowski drove on the wrong side of the road and hit another vehicle head-on.

Virginia State Police say Pavlikowski wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

The female driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officials suspect alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
