DEERFIELD, MA : Head-on collision between car and school van in Deerfield sends 3 to hospitals on February, Thursday 1st 2018
A collision Thursday afternoon between a sedan and a school van on Conway Road sent three people to the hospital, including one with serious injuries, police said.
The crash, reported just before 3:30 p.m. on Conway Road, or a section of Route 116 just north of Yankee Candle.
The South Deerfield Fire Department was called to the scene to help extricate people trapped in the wreckage.
The driver of the Saturn Ion sedan was taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of injuries that are considered serious but not life-threatening.
Two occupants of the school van, the driver and a student, were taken by ambulance to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. Each suffered minor injuries.
None of the identities of the injured was disclosed to the press.
