Puyallup, WA : Man killed in SR 167 crash identified on May, Monday, 15th 2017
King County medical examiners have identified the man killed late Monday in a crash on a state Route 167 offramp in Pacific.
Scott Cricchio, 33, of Lake Tapps, died at the scene of the 7 p.m. crash on the southbound offramp from Route 167 to Ellingson Road.
The four-vehicle crash was caused by a 62-year-old Vancouver-based semitrailer driver who failed to slow down as he took the exit and crashed into the back of Cricchio’s car, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Cricchio’s car hit that of a 26-year-old Kent woman, who had to be taken to Auburn General Hospital with minor injuries, then hit the car of a 34-year-old Bellevue man.
The semitrailer driver and the Bellevue man were uninjured.
The offramp was closed for nearly five hours as the State Patrol investigated the crash. Intoxicants are not believed to have been involved in the crash, though the investigation is ongoing.
