Lehigh Acres, FL : Woman injured after a two-vehicle crash on Joan Avenue North and Lee Boulevard on Sunday afternoon, Nov 8, 2015

A woman was taken to the hospital after a serious crash in Lehigh Acres Sunday afternoon

The crash happened on Joan Avenue North and Lee Boulevard around 3:30 p.m.

Witnesses told us a Toyota Camry sideswiped another vehicle and crashed into a tree in front of the Tire Kingdom store on Lee Boulevard.

We're told the Lehigh Acres Fire Department had to use two sets of Jaws of Life to cut the doors and roof off of the Camry. It took firefighters nearly 30 minutes to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

The woman, identified as 18-year-old Hephvrine Vil, of Lehigh Acres, was in critical condition at Lee Memorial as of early Monday morning.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the crash.
