Orange Township, MI : West Mich. man, 63, killed when car slides under semi near Ionia Monday night, August 1, 2016

Police have released more information about the man killed in a crash on M-66, also known as South State Road, near Ionia Monday night.

Investigators say the 63-year-old Portland man was driving a red Chevy Cobalt heading west when he blew a stop sign near the corner of Grand River Avenue. He crashed into a semi and got wedged underneath it.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. and the intersection was closed until just after 10 p.m. The victim's name has not yet been released.
