Tuscaloosa, AL : 50-year-old Northport man struck and killed by a car while crossing Highway 82 south of Tuscaloosa on Saturday evening, January 31, 2015

A 50-year-old Northport man was killed Saturday night as he tried to cross Highway 82 just south of Tuscaloosa, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers.
Trooper Reginald King said the victim, Leoncio R. Segura, was crossing the highway on foot around 6:45 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a 2006 Toyota Camry.

The collision killed Segura, King said. The driver of the Camry stayed on the scene to talk with police and was not hurt in the accident.

King said ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate the accident.
