Greenville, OH : Man dies after a car and ATV accident in Darke County on Thursday, January 21, 2016
A man dies Tuesday after a car and All-Terrain Vehicle accident in Greeneville Jan. 21.
It happened in the 5700 block of Oliver Road in Greenville just after 3 p.m.
According to a press release from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, Betsy Hall 16, was traveling eastbound when she struck Ralph Hartle 82, of Greenville who was driving a John Deere Gator ATV, as he picked up a trash can along the side of the roadway. At the time of the crash, Hall did have a valid driver’s license.
Two other occupants were in the car with Hall, but they did not suffer any injuries.
He was reportedly making a left turn into his own, private driveway when he was struck. He was ejected from the ATV and flown to Miami Valley Hospital via Careflight.
Hartle died as a result of the injuries he suffered in the crash. His death marks Darke County’s first fatal accident of 2016.
It is unknown as of Tuesday if Hall will face any charges in this case.
