Topeka, KS : Motorcyclist killed in an accident on Friday, September 8, 2017

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday made public the identity of the motorcyclist killed Friday in an accident in the 4600 block of S.W. Gage Boulevard.


Shawn Campbell David, 23, of Carbondale, was taken after the crash to Stormont-Vail Health Center, where he was pronounced dead, said sheriff’s Cpl. Tim Kampsen.

The Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Highway Patrol, Mission Fire Department and an American Medical response ambulance were called at 5:42 p.m. Friday to the scene, where Kampsen said David was alone riding a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Gage when it left the road on its east side for an unknown reason and struck a tree.

Circumstances of the crash remained under inestigation.
