South Lake Tahoe, California
A 62-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday, July 23, on Highway 88 just west of the Carson River Bridge, according to California Highway Patrol.
According to the report, a 2001 BMW was driving west on the highway at about 6:20 p.m. at an unknown speed west of Shingle Mills Road.

The car struck a raised embankment and overturned, according to CHP. The driver, identified as David Martin of Woodacre, California, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers do not know if alcohol is a factor, and they are waiting for a pending toxicology report.
