GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OH : Garfield Heights police chase ends with car crashing into traffic pole on Thursday, October, 19th 2017

Garfield Heights police are investigating a chase that ended in a crash on Thursday morning.

An officer saw a gray Chevrolet SUV make an illegal and abrupt turn in the area of Garfield Blvd and Rockwood Road.

Attempting to initiate a traffic stop, the officer activated police lights and sirens, but the vehicle failed to stop.

Officers pursued the vehicle for a short time into Cleveland until the pursuit ended at Broadway Avenue.

The vehicle continued northbound on Broadway Avenue after the pursuit ended.

It lost control and crashed at Broadway and East 78th Street.

One of the occupants had a felony warrant out of Columbus. The occupants involved were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The incident remains under investigation.
