Hagerstown, MD : A woman was injured in a Rear-end collision at Sharpsburg Pike onto Kent Avenue On Monday, May 16th, 2016
A female victim was transported to Meritus Medical Center Monday afternoon after the pickup truck she was driving on Sharpsburg Pike was struck in the rear by a van, according to Maryland State Police.
The injured female was waiting to make a left turn from southbound Sharpsburg Pike onto Kent Avenue south of Hagerstown when the driver of the Toyota Sienna didn't notice the Isuzu pickup truck and struck it, a state police spokeswoman said.
The pickup truck sustained heavy damage.
The condition of the injured female was not immediately available.
The driver of the Sienna, a female, was not transported to the hospital, police said.
The collision, which occurred at 12:59, forced authorities to close both lanes of Sharpsburg Pike for about an hour, police said.
