Gainesville,FL : Four seriously injured in crash on Hawthorne Road on January, Thursday 4th 2018
Four Gainesville residents, including two children, were hospitalized with severe injuries Thursday afternoon following a crash on Hawthorne Road that occurred when their car ran off the road and went airborne.
Amiya Morrison, 6, was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital with critical injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The driver, Tiesha Marie Adams, 28; Carissa Johnson, 28; and Christopher Johnson, 10, were taken to Shands with critical injuries.
The accident occurred about 4:40 p.m. as a 2003 Nissan Altima was eastbound on the highway. The car went off the road, hit a culvert, because airborne and hit a tree, FHP reported in a news release.
