Pensacola, FL : Troopers seek help in fatal wreck on Sunday, 4th September 2016
The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public's help to determine whether a 25-year-old Pensacola man was racing before his car crashed shortly before 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Troopers said in a news release that Jerrandin Pankey was southbound on W Street from Truman Avenue when he began swerving southeast across the northbound lanes and toward a curb while spinning counter-clockwise. The right rear of Pankey's 1993 Chevrolet Camaro hit a utility pole, a fence and two unoccupied parked cars. Pankey was pronounced dead at the scene by Escambia County EMS.
A preliminary investigation indicated Pankey may have been racing southbound on W Street possibly with a Gray Ford Focus.
