Attleboro, MA : Three hurt, two seriously, in Attleboro crash on Wednesday 5 October 2016
Two city residents were seriously injured just before midnight when the car they were riding in slammed head on into a tree at Route 123 (South Avenue) at West Street, near the city’s water treatment plant
The driver, 24-year-old Danny Concul of 314 South Main St., and a back-seat passenger, 18-year-old Chelsea Petersen of 19 Prescott St., were taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence in city ambulances, police and fire officials said.
Petersen was unconscious when rescue officials arrived at the scene, rescue officials said.
A second woman, 19-year-old Violeta Echeverria, of 512 South Main St., suffered minor injuries and was conscious and responsive when rescue officials arrived, police Capt. James MacDonald said. She was also taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
Petersen was listed in critical condition late Thursday morning and Concul and Echeverria were listed in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The single-car accident was reported at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday at a slight curve on Route 123.
