FAY, OK : Girl dies of injuries suffered in utility vehicle crash on Sunday, 28th August 2016
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 6-year-old girl from Thomas has died of head injuries she suffered when a utility vehicle she was riding in struck a log in the South Canadian River earlier this week.
The patrol said Friday that the girl died at an Oklahoma City hospital where she was taken following the crash near Fay on Sunday. The girl's name was not released.
An OHP report says the girl was lying on the floor of the UTV when it struck a submerged log that then punctured the floor of the vehicle and struck her. The girl was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital where the patrol says she died on Tuesday.
Two adults and a 4-year-old boy who were also in the vehicle were not injured.
