Man killed while pushing cycle on Georgia

A 65-year-old New Smyrna Beach man pushing his motorcycle on Interstate 95 Friday morning was struck and killed by a semi-truck, officials said.Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Thelbert Harper may have had mechanical issues with his 1997 BMW motorcycle, causing it to become disabled about 6:30 a.m. Friday in Brevard County, according to an FHP report.Troopers believe Harper was trying to push his bike out of I-95’s southbound lanes at mile marker 223 when he and the bike were struck and run over by 38-year-old Lamar Beckham’s semi-truck, according to the report. Beckham, of Georgia, was not injured.The crash is under investigation, according to the report.
