Waukesha, WI : 51-year-old woman killed in a two-car accident in Waukesha on Wednesday, January 7, 2015
A 51-year-old woman who was presumed dead this morning after being involved in a nearly fatal two-car crash on Pewaukee Road has been revived, according to a news release from the Waukesha Police Department.
The victim, who remains anonymous, was found pulseless and not breathing at the scene and was originally thought to be dead.
According to Waukesha police, "through extraordinary efforts of medical personnel a pulse was established" and she was taken to the Intensive Care Unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
There is no prognosis for her recovery available at this time, according to the release.
The crash might have been caused by an unspecified "medical emergency" suffered by the woman.
The second driver was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The Waukesha Police Department, Fire Department and vehicles from the Waukesha City Garage, which houses salt trucks and plows, responded to the area.
Pewaukee Road was closed between Bluemound Road and Northview Road as a result of the crash.
