Henry County, GA : One teen was killed and two others hurt in a one-car wreck in Henry County Wednesday afternoon on May 7th 2014
One teen was killed and two others hurt in a one-car wreck in Henry County Wednesday afternoon.
It happened in the 1400 block of Pates Creek Road.
Henry County Police Lt. Jason Bolton tells 11Alive News that there were three teens -- two females and one male -- in the car, which veered off the roadway and into a ditch. Bolton later said the teenage male was driving the car recklessly and at a high rate of speed. He said that the driver over-corrected while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle and went into a ditch, where the car rolled at least once, ejecting all three teens from the vehicle.
One of the female victims, identified as Jasmine Poole, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two teens were airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta. The female was listed in stable condition Wednesday night, while the condition of the male was not available.
All three teens were students at Dutchtown High School.
Wednesday evening, neighbors in the area told 11Alive's Keith Whitney that racing along that roadway has been a problem for years.
