Madison, MN : Three people injured after a two-car crash in Lac Qui Parle County on Thursday afternoon, April 21, 2016

Two Madison women and a 12-year-old girl were injured just before 5 p.m. Thursday after a two-vehicle crash just north of Madison.

The Lac qui Parle County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Julie Arends was driving a 2007 Ford truck east on 330th Street, when her vehicle made contact with a 1998 Pontiac Firebird, traveling north on Lac qui Parle County Road 19.

The Pontiac was being driven by Kimberly Torke, 34.

Both vehicles left the roadway and entered the ditch. Arends, Torke, and the 12-year-old female passenger in Torke’s vehicle were transported to the Madison Hospital by ambulance.

Torke was later transported by air ambulance to another hospital. As of Friday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office said Torke was in critical but stable condition.

Arends and the 12-year-old girl were treated for minor to moderate injuries and released.

The Sheriff’s Office says they are still investigating the incident.

Madison Ambulance, Bellingham First Responders, Bellingham Fire Department, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Tofte Auto and Towing and North Memorial Air Ambulance assisted on the scene.
