Lincoln County ,NC : 14- Years old girl killed and another teenager charged after Fatal Crash on Sunday morning ,May 24th 2015

A 14-year-old girl was killed early Sunday morning and another teen has been charged after the car they were in crashed into a Lincolnton church at a high rate of speed.

Lincolnton police say 18-year-old Juan Leonardo was driving when the vehicle crashed into the Jesus Name Ministerial Tabernacle on North Aspen Street around 2:35 a.m. Sunday morning. This is near Lincolnton High School.

Witnesses say the four-door sedan was speeding back and forth on the road before the driver lost control and the vehicle left the road and flipped, crashing into a brick wall at the church.

“He did like a fishtail and he couldn't gain control of his wheel,” Brandy Polson said.

Polson lives just across the street from where the accident happened and says there were three people in the car.

According to those who stopped to help, the car was on fire so strangers ran to pull the victims from the wreckage. A 14-year-old, later identified as Beatriz Maria Garcia was in the back passenger seat and later died from her injuries.
