VIRGINIA BEACH, VA : 2 hospitalized in crash on Independence Blvd in Va. Beach on Thursday, 28th March 2019

Two people were hospitalized Thursday night after a car crashed on Independence Boulevard in Virginia Beach.

Officials with the Virginia Beach Fire Department said police as well as fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene just north of Haygood Road around 9 p.m.

Two people inside the car were trapped after the crash. Officials said one person was transported by ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, while the other was flown there via Nightingale.

Officials said their conditions are unknown. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
