Berne Township, OH : Cyclist dies after crash in Fairfield County on Monday, March 14, 2016

Troopers from the Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said a 79-year-old man has died after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle.

Troopers say Ralph R. Conrad, of Lancaster, was riding his bike southbound on County Road 86 on Monday around 2:10 p.m. He was hit by 67-year-old Katherine Whitman, also of Lancaster, and was ejected from his bicycle. He was not wearing his bicycle helmet at the time of the crash.

Conrad was flown to Grant Medical Center, where he died. Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the crash.
