Palestine, TX : Karl Pierre, 20, killed and Jaylon Brown, 20, injured in a one-vehicle wreck on Highway 155 in Anderson County on Wednesday, February 11, 2015

Authorities have identified the passengers involved in a fatal rollover in Anderson County.

According to the Department of Public Safety, at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Karl Pierre, 20, of Tyler, was heading south on Highway 155 near Palestine when a crash occurred. Investigators determined the SUV drifted to the left, and the driver overcorrected to the right and swerved back left into the center median. The car then rolled several times.

Both passengers were taken to a Palestine hospital where Pierre was pronounced dead. The second person inside the vehicle was identified as Jaylon Brown, 20, of Spring. He suffered major injuries. His current condition is unknown.

Trooper Jean Dark said Pierre was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and Brown was not.
