SWAN CREEK TOWNSHIP, MI : Victim arrested in two-vehicle collision on Saturday, September, 30th 2017
Two vehicles that were both heading southbound on Graham Rd. (M-52) collided at Stello Road, north of St. Charles, on Saturday, Sept. 30 at approximately 1:40 p.m.
Michigan State Police Lt. Dave Kaiser explained that a 66-year-old St. Charles man was coming around the curve driving a 2003 gray vehicle when he had to slam on the brakes. His vehicle collided with the back end of a small black 2015 model car driven by a 47-year-old Saginaw man.
Lt. Kaiser said, “[the driver of the gray vehicle] was not paying attention, because a normal person would’ve stopped sooner and not had to slam on the brakes.”
The driver of the black vehicle was arrested for OUIL (operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor) and was also cited for open intoxicants in the vehicle.
“The intoxicated driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Lt. Kaiser said.
Michigan State Police were at the scene, with the assistance of EMS ambulance service and Lakefield Fire/ Rescue.
