Wapato, WA : Woman killed in crash west of Wapato on Monday afternoon, December 19, 2016

A 25-year-old woman was killed Monday afternoon west of Wapato when the vehicle she was driving rolled multiple times, ejecting her, the Yakima County coroner said.

Andre’a Bennett-Dave, a Wapato resident, died at the scene from severe head and body injuries, Coroner Jack Hawkins said.

Bennett-Dave was southbound on Shields Road just south of Evans Road about 2:30 p.m. when she lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the road and roll multiple times, Hawkins said.

Yakama Nation police were investigating because of the woman’s tribal ties, Hawkins said.
