MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, MI : Bicyclist hit and killed along busy stretch of Pierson Road on Tuesday, 19th November 2024

A bicyclist was hit and killed along a busy stretch of Pierson Road in Mt. Morris Township on Tuesday evening.

The Mt. Morris Township Police Department says 37-year-old Camren Kelly Wymore was riding a bicycle east on Pierson Road near Eastman Drive when a pickup truck traveling in the same direction hit him from behind around 7 p.m.

Wymore was pronounced dead on the scene. The pickup truck driver, who police did not identify, stopped and cooperated with investigators.

The driver consented to a blood draw to determine whether they were intoxicated when the crash happened. The Genesee County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation.

Pierson Road was closed for hours during the investigation Tuesday evening, but all lanes have reopened in the area. Police will continue investigating what led to the deadly crash.
