1 hurt in 3-vehicle crash Monday on Bypass
One person was hurt in a three-vehicle wreck early Monday morning on the Bypass near 3rd Street, a Harrison Police report said.
The report said the wreck was reported about 7:25 a.m. Monday and involved a 2001 Dodge half-ton pickup driving by 26-year-old Cody Cockrum of Harrison, a 2014 Freightliner 18-wheeler driven by 54-year-old Douglas Robison of Clinton, Iowa, and a 2004 Nissan Murano driven by Jessica Baldwin, 21, of Harrison.
According to the report by Ptl. Mark Jonasson, Cockrum was southbound on the Bypass and crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and hit the Freightliner.
The impact knocked a tire off the northbound Freightliner, which then hit Baldwin’s vehicle. She was also southbound behind Cockrum, the report said.
The pickup sustained heavy damage and Cockrum had to be extricated by Harrison Rescue, the report said.
The report said Cockrum was the only one injured in the crash and was taken by ambulance to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center for treatment.
A hospital spokesman said Cockrum was transferred by ground ambulance to Cox South hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Jonasson said the investigation is still ongoing and any citations are pending, although Cockrum was found at fault.
