Several students were taken Thursday morning to Chambersburg Hospital as a precaution after their school bus was involved in a crash on Lincoln Way East near Fayetteville, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 7 a.m. while the bus was stopped as part of its route and was struck from behind by a truck, Chambersburg Area School District spokesman Brian Miller said in an email.
Parents were notified, and district administrators responded to the scene and remained with the students at the hospital until their parents arrived, Miller wrote.
He was unable to provide information on the number of students taken to the hospital or the extent of their injuries, but said all had been released to return home.
The bus was carrying 15 students bound for Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Chambersburg Area Middle School North and the Chambersburg Career Magnet School, Miller wrote.
The bus sustained minor damage.
